Car paint damage comes in many forms — from light clear-coat scratches to deep chips exposing bare metal. Fortunately, there is a solution for every level of severity. Light surface scratches can often be removed by hand polishing or a machine buffer using cutting compound or scratch remover. Deeper scratches that reach the base coat or primer may require touch-up paint applied with a precision brush or pen. For chips and stone damage, a clean-and-fill technique using OEM-matched paint gives the most natural result. When damage extends to the metal panel, sanding, body filler, primer, and a full respray of the affected area is necessary. Professional paint correction (wet sanding + multi-stage polishing) can restore faded or swirled paintwork. More advanced solutions include wrap films (PPF) for ongoing protection, or a complete respray for a factory-fresh finish. Choosing the right method depends on the scratch depth, panel location, and your desired result — from a quick repair to a showroom-quality finish.
